SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PARK IN OPOLE

COMPETITION DESIGN

The aim of the competition work was to create modern office buildings of pro-ecological nature, i.e. to ensure comfortable and healthy working conditions with the use of natural and energy saving technologies. For this purpose, we gave up on the both costly and energy consuming air conditioning systems, closed windows or suspended ceilings. Shallow tracts, tilt windows, night time cooling and a natural, mechanically supported ventilation ensures the daylight access with an appropriate circulation of fresh air. The climate conditions of the surrounding are alleviated by water tanks planned around the buildings. These tanks also perform the function of reservoirs.

The assumption of the project was to obtain the LEED SILVER/BREEAMGOOD certificate for the designed investment in a rational manner, without increasing the investment costs. It seems that most newly designed office buildings will be subject to these certification standards.
