OSSOLINEUM NATIONAL MUSEUM

COMPETITION DESIGN

The form of the project for the Princes Lubomirski Foundation is strongly influenced by the context. The building is expected to be a landmark - the symbol of the place, but it cannot overwhelm the existing historic monuments. The form is cut by the transparent hall that is opened to all floors and the surrounding. The floor planning is clearly following the distribution of the function. The ground floor is hosting the visitors with the reception and educational functions, giving the overview of the place. The first floor is for permanent and temporary exhibitions. The upper levels are dedicated to administration, warehouses, and workshops.
